There are several things to take into consideration when considering if the Razor Rip Rider 360 castor trike is the best Christmas gift for someone on your shopping list this year. The first is fun, and this ride-on drifter has that in abundance. All you have to do is check out the reviews of the Rip Rider (below) to discover that kids love this bike like few others. And who doesn’t want to give their kids the toy that they’ll remember as a favorite for many years to come?
Second is safety and durability. Any drifting ride-on trike such as the Razor Rip Rider 360 is of course not going to be as safe as a chess set, but is it as safe as any such active, adventurous toy can be? Again, turn to the reviews by parents — as well as the awards from Parents magazine and other respected publications — to see that they report excellent durability under extreme use (see note re: ultimate popularity making these bikes very heavily used by their riders. Many appear to never want to get off!)
Third is price and savings. Not that it’s the most important thing, but it sure doesn’t hurt that these drifting ride-on trikes are selling for more than 30% off at Amazon (at the time of this writing). No reason to spend more than you have to, especially when all other indications point to the Rip Rider 360 being a top-notch candidate for best Christmas gift for 2010 for active, adventurous young kids on your list this holiday shopping season.
Razor Rider 360 Reviews
I bought the rip rider 360 for my son on his sixth birthday and he absolutely loves it. The only complaint i have is that when he rides it for hours on end…which he does because he loves it soooo much…he gets a bruise on his lower back from the seat…which is made of hard plastic. I guess when he pedals, his back moves back and forth against the seat hard enough to leave a bruise.
My 8 year old seen this on a tv commercial. Of course he just had to have it. He has ridden this everyday since it came in. He loves it. I would recommend tryin to improve it with some kind of brake on it. But other than that it’s awesome. Thanks.
My 10 year-old loves this thing! It’s like the old Big Wheel but so much more fun. He has worn off a set of wheels. I was able to replace the front tires with a tire from Walmart and the back ones with replacement wheel from Rip Stick. Great toy!
My 7 year old son absolutely loved this rip rider! We bought it for Christmas and he barely got off of it. It was also the hit of our neighborhood. Unfortunately the mechanism in the pedals stripped after only 1 week of use so we had to return it to Fogdog (who was great to work with). They sent out a replacement immediately so we will see what happens in the next week? I hope this is not a factory defect problem because this is an awesome little toy!
My son says there are very few things that are better than the Rip Rider. He received it as a gift for his 13th birthday. His 8 year old brother received one for his birthday a few months back and both were taking turns riding it. So now that they each have their own, they race and have a great time. I see no issues or problems with this product. Holds together well, even after bumping and crashing each other. We have yet to repair them. I would highly recommend this for any child.
We bought this for our youngest child age 7 . He absolutely loves this. He is on it all the time. We have gotten comments from adults about how they wish there was an adult size one. The front tire is a solid tire ,so NO FLATS , and as far as the back ones, they are just like the wheels on the scooters. You can change them when they wear down. I would definitely recommend buying one of these. Razor Riprider 360 – Blue
I bought two of these. The 160 lb. weight limit was very appealing, as I have a 14 year old and 7 year old. It is small…leg length is really for a 5-10 year old. The teenagers love ‘em, but their knees are up to their chin. It is so much fun! The kids all took turns and loved the “360″ spin when they put on the brake.
Unfortunately, the gears inside the front wheel broke on one of them. After a very frustrating attempt to contact Razor, I contacted Fogdog.com, they immediately offered to have it returned for a refund.
They were easy to put together. Came quickly from Fogdog.com. Other then the NON-Customer service from Razor…these were an excellent purchase.
I’ll let our 7-year-old write this review: “I like that it can do 360 spins, and I like it because it has tornadoes all over it, and I like the front tire because it’s a really cool black tire. And…I like how it feels to hold on to the handles, and I like how it feels to sit on it, and I really like to go really fast on it. AND I like when my little sister rides on my lap. And my little brother has stood on the back and it went perfect.”
I wish I had invented this product. I purchased it for my 6-year old son. He is a daredevil and even he was a little wary at first but after realizing there was no way it could tip, he loved it! It’s like a big wheel on steroids!! So much fun and I’m sure he’ll be riding it until at least age 9!
